Having been alerted by Barrie Zwicker to the evidence that 911blogger.com has been co-opted by operatives of (Peter Dale Scott's) the deep state -- i.e., the website's suppression of the Citizen's Investigation Team's (CIT) clear debunking of the official myth that the Pentagon was struck by Flight 77 -- I was reminded that the Truth movement is subject to other aberrations, not necessarily of a covert deep state cooption type, but which are nevertheless detrimental to the Movement's explicit goal of the exposure of the lies we've been told about 9/11.

I speak of the two intrinsic and primary human traits that act as a smokescreen to empirical thinking/self-reflection and which allow for the root cause of human suffering/subjugation: the belief in untruths through self-deception.

Ego. By which I mean a galvanizing need to feel good about oneself. 'Good' here presupposes that one's view of the way the world works is correct.

Denial. I use the word in the Orwellian doublethink sense, doublethink being the big brother (so to speak) of simple denial; the latter involves much more complex 'thought processes' – 'To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic... and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself – that was the ultimate subtlety.' (Orwell, 'Nineteen Eighty-Four'.)

Denial is closely related to ego in the sense that denial is the mechanism most used to 'feel good' about oneself, i.e., the self-deception that one's view of the way the world works is correct, when the empirical evidence clearly indicates otherwise.

George Orwell
With active ego and denial come the inevitable result of hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy being an outright behavioral trait, an effect (ego and denial being its primary causes) it is generally easily discerned – although, via denial/doublethink, not by the culprit himself. It is difficult to imagine a personal transgression, or an outright crime against humanity, that does not involve hypocrisy, from the cheating girlfriend outraged that her cuckold is flirting with another female, to George W. Bush's demonization of 'The Beast of Baghdad' for his use of poison gas when it was Bush's own father who oversaw the provision of the gas components and the means of delivery (helicopters).

To understand where I'm really going with my (admittedly) borderline psychobabble, we have to do our own version of the journey described by the lyrics from the classic Jefferson Airplane tune, White Rabbit—which at the time written was meant to describe the surreal disorientation of an LSD trip but which has since come to mean the tortuous, seemingly incomprehensible, i.e., likewise surreal, doings of the deep state. So let's gradually descend into 'the rabbit hole,' with the loose notion of analyzing these combined matters of 9/11 Truth cooption, deep state shenanigans, the belief in untruths due to ego and denial and which leads to hypocrisy, plus George Orwell's insights, and see where its twists and turns take us.

Hang on for the ride if you will: this essay is meant to do multiple duty.
