Coincidentally, itinerants now have a 5 mile walk to the lineup at Pavones, and according to la palabra in the pueblo, it will be that way … forever.I’m calling it a coincidence that the Cocal bridge went down early this morning, just in time to turn back the squadron of rental cars arriving for the projected head-high south swell that arrived last night.
I’m calling it a coincidence that today’s session found only a handful of grinning expat residents and local Ticos in the lineup, and a lot of itinerants-who-don’t- sit-out- the-flat-spells- with-the-rest-of-us pulling up at the downed bridge and going back to wherever the hell they came from.
I’m calling it coincidence that certain cranky locals had been talking about drastic action after the last forecasted south resulted in a triple digits mob at the legendary Pavones Point.
Personally, I don’t believe the boys had anything to do with the bridge going down. Clay especially didn’t have anything to do with the bridge going down, although, coincidentally, he was conspicuously absent from the cantina festivities last night.
