Weisbecker's Photo Portfolio

Although I'm primarily a writer, I've dabbled in photojournalism as well: I've done the photography for many of my own stories, in magazines as diverse as Men's Journal, Smithsonian, Sailing, American Cowboy, Popular Photography, plus virtually all the surf magazines. My approach to photography is a version of the old "F-8 and be there" aphorism: "Lead an interesting life... Oh, and bring a camera."

Art is the imposing of a pattern on experience, and our aesthetic enjoyment is the recognition of the pattern.

Alfred North Whitehead
